History
Shinkawa-Cho Station (station number DY15) is a tram stop on the Hakodate City Tram Yunokawa Line, operated by the Hakodate City Enterprise Bureau Transportation Division. It opened on 29 June 1913, in front of Shinkawa-cho lot 1 and Chitose-cho lot 10 in Hakodate, Hokkaido. The stop has two opposing side platforms arranged point-symmetrically about the center of the intersection; the outbound-direction platform carries mercury-vapor lamps, and rubber guide posts are installed starting about 10 meters before the stop so that vehicles do not collide with it. It lies on the line between Chitose-cho and Matsukaze-cho, near Hakodate Central Post Office, the NHK Hakodate broadcasting station, Aomori Michinoku Bank's Hakodate business office, and the Hakodate Shoko Shinyo Kumiai credit union's head office.
