History
Shinjō-Tanaka Station is a station on Toyama Chihō Railway's Main Line in Tanaka-machi, Toyama, Toyama Prefecture, with station number T03. It is a relatively new station that opened on 21 December 2012; its provisional name during construction was "Nishi-Shinjō Station." Total project cost was approximately 42 million yen, of which the City of Toyama subsidized 7.5 million yen. The station building stands on the north side of the tracks, and the station is a ground-level station with a single platform serving one track, equipped with barrier-free features such as ramps and fall-prevention fencing. Note that until 1942 an earlier Nishi-Shinjō Station existed midway between this station and Higashi-Shinjō Station, at the 2.8 km point from Dentetsu-Toyama, the origin of the line.
Notes
Until 1942, an earlier Nishi-Shinjō Station existed between this station and Higashi-Shinjō Station, and Shinjō-Tanaka Station used that name as its provisional name during construction.
