History

Shichirigahama Station opened on 20 June 1903 as Tanabe Station on what is now the Enoshima Electric Railway (Enoden) Main Line, in the Shichirigahama district of Kamakura. It was renamed Yukiai Station on 18 October 1915 and given its present name in 1951. The station has a single side platform; a station building and platform canopy were completed in 1986 when the stop became day-staffed, and a further building renewal was completed on 16 April 1997. In 2016 the Fujisawa-end stair was fitted with a wheelchair lift to bring the station into line with modern accessibility standards.

Notes

The faregate is flanked by a sculpture shaped like a windsurfing mast, a nod to the surf culture of the beach on the other side of National Route 134.
