History
Shake Station opened on 15 July 1926 with the inauguration of the Kurami–Atsugi section of the Sagami Railway. The line was nationalised on 1 June 1944, the station becoming part of the government-run Sagami Line (later Japanese National Railways); freight handling ended in June 1962 and the station became unstaffed in October the same year. With privatisation on 1 April 1987 it passed to JR East. Suica use began on 18 November 2001, the ticket window closed on 26 December 2014, and remote management from Hashimoto Station began on 13 March 2016. An elevator was installed on 6 March 2023.
Notes
The arch-fronted concrete station building dates to 1926 and was built by the line's founding Sagami Railway from materials sourced through its own gravel-quarrying business; an identical design survives at Kurami Station.
