Location

History

Screen Station is a petitioned station that opened on 15 March 2008 between Takamiya Station and Taigataisha-mae Station on the Ōmi Railway's Taga Line. The former Dainippon Screen Manufacturing (now SCREEN Holdings) requested that the Ōmi Railway build the station for the convenience of its employees' commuting, and the company bore the full construction cost of about 100 million yen. The station stands within the grounds of the company's Hikone plant, but boarding and alighting are also possible for people other than employees. It was the first intermediate station added to the Taga Line in 54 years and 5 months, since the abolition of Tsuchida Station in 1953. It became unstaffed all day on 1 March 2026.

Notes

The Ōmi Railway also has other petitioned stations established for the convenience of company employees, including Kyocera-mae Station and Fujitec-mae Station.
