History

Sanuki-Tsuda Station opened on 21 March 1926 as a station of the Railway Ministry's Kōtoku Main Line. Freight handling was discontinued on 1 October 1972 and baggage handling on 1 February 1984; the station became a JR Shikoku station at the division and privatization of Japanese National Railways on 1 April 1987. A Willy Winky shop and a Kiosk store, both operated by a JR Shikoku subsidiary, once occupied the station but later withdrew, and the station became unstaffed on 1 September 2010. It is located in Tsudachō Tsuda, Sanuki City, Kagawa Prefecture, station number T15. It is an at-grade station with a mix of a side platform and an island platform, two platforms and three tracks in total; platform 2 has a single-track-through configuration, and some of the limited express "Uzushio" services stop here.

Notes

The station display panel gives Sanuki-Tsuda the caption "the station of Tsuda no Matsubara," after the Tsuda pine grove.
