Location

History

Sanuki-Fuchū Station opened as a passenger station of Japanese National Railways' Yosan Line on 27 January 1952. On 29 September 1968, with the double-tracking of the Kokubu–Kamogawa section, the point where the line crossed the Aya River was changed, and the station was accordingly relocated to an embankment further north than before. It passed to JR Shikoku at the division and privatization of Japanese National Railways on 1 April 1987, and ICOCA became usable there on 1 March 2014. It is located in Fuchūchō, Sakaide City, Kagawa Prefecture, an at-grade station with two side platforms and two tracks, station number Y05. Only local trains stop here; Seto-Ōhashi Line services and limited expresses pass through without stopping.

Notes

When the section between Kokubu and Kamogawa was double-tracked in 1968, the tracks were rerouted north and the station relocated onto a new embankment; the original alignment beside the Aya River is now a road, and a disused railway bridge still stands.
