It was temporarily closed on 3 February 1945 during the wartime contraction of services, then reopened on 1 April 1948 once peacetime operations resumed. As part of a network-wide station-numbering rollout during fiscal 2012, the stop was assigned the code SI05. The station has a single elevated island platform serving two tracks.
