History

Sakaimatsu Station opened on 1 July 1950 on the Kōnan Railway's Kōnan Line in Kuroishi, Aomori Prefecture. From 24 October 1950 it operated as a kan'i itaku station run by the stationmaster's family, but staffing ended on 1 January 1954 when the consignment contract was lifted and the station became unstaffed at all times. The old station building was demolished and a new one completed on 31 July 1997. Since 1 October 2021 the station has taken part in the Kōnan Railway's commemorative stamp programme: the Sakaimatsu stamp can be pressed into the Kōnan Tetsudō Inchō stamp book sold at Kuroishi Station. The station number is KK 12.
