History
Sakaimachi Station is a Tōbu Railway station on the Isesaki Line in Isesaki, Gunma, 106.3 km from the Asakusa terminus and numbered TI-22. It opened on 27 March 1910 with the completion of the Ōta–Shin-Isesaki section. The station's address was originally Ōaza Dōdō in the town of Sakai (Sakai-machi), Sawa District; the merger of 1 January 2005 that re-formed Isesaki City absorbed Sakai, and the address became Isesaki-shi Sakai Dōdō. The layout is two staggered side platforms linked by a footbridge with the station building on the south side, and a paid park-and-ride lot is provided (discounted for limited-express Ryōmō riders). PASMO simplified gates are installed.
