History
Saishun Iryo Center-mae Station opened on the Kumamoto Electric Railway's Kikuchi Line on 16 October 1965 as Saishunsō-mae Station. It became compatible with the "Kumamon's IC CARD" transit smart card on 1 April 2015, and on 1 October 2019, when Kumamoto Saishunsō Hospital was renamed Kumamoto Saishun Medical Center, the station was renamed Saishun Iryo Center-mae Station and given station number KD18. On 10 October 2022, as part of Kōshi City's Miyoshi district land readjustment project, the track and the station itself were relocated eastward onto the grounds of Kumamoto Saishun Medical Center.
Notes
The new station's nameboards, on both the up and down sides, are fitted with lamps that flash and play an approach melody as a train nears, a specification nearly identical to that at Shin-Suya Station.
