History

Saidaiji Station opened on 1 September 1962 on the Japanese National Railways (JNR) Akō Line in what is now Higashi-ku of Okayama City. The station passed to West Japan Railway Company on 1 April 1987 with the privatisation of JNR. It has one side platform and one island platform connected by a footbridge, and is staffed. The station lies 51.2 km from the starting point of the Akō Line.
