History

It became a JR East station at the privatisation of the national railway on 1 April 1987, and the Suica IC card became usable there from 26 March 2016. Eki-net Q-ticket service began on 1 October 2024. It is a ground-level station on the JR East Rikuu East Line with a single side platform serving one track, located at Kitaura-Yachi, Misato-machi, Tōda District, Miyagi Prefecture; the station building is a simple wooden structure with mortar-finished walls, doubling as a waiting room. It is an unstaffed station managed by the Kogota General Center (Kogota Station), with a simplified Suica ticket gate and a boarding-certificate issuing machine installed in the waiting room.
Notes
Although it is an intermediate station on the Rikuu East Line, there were once local trains that did not stop there.
