It is used by city tram (Matsuyama City Line) routes 1, 2, 3, and 5. It opened on 2 May 1926 near Katsuyamachō 2-chōme 19 as Rokkakudō Station, with a track realignment of the former Matsuyama Electric Tramway line. Rokkakudō Station was abolished on 6 March 1944. It reopened on 18 March 1962 as Keisatsushomae Station.

Notes

This stop lies on a continuous gradient section, with safety zones on two opposed platforms serving two tracks set on the sloped line. In recent years, high-rise condominium construction has progressed around the station after height restrictions were lifted in the residential area (the Mochida district) to its south.
