History
Oshioe Station opened as a newly established station between Kawahigashi and Yatagawa stations on the Japan National Railways' Suigun Line on 1 May 1952, handling passengers and hand baggage and parcels. Parcel handling ended on 1 October 1970, leaving it unstaffed, and it became a simplified-contract station with ticket sales entrusted to a private shop. It became a JR East station with the National Railways' privatization and division of 1987, and in 1995 the simplified contract (with the shop in front of the station) was ended, leaving it fully unstaffed. The station building was rebuilt in 1996. The station's name derives from Oshioe Village, the municipality in which it was located at the time. It is located at Kodama, Shioda, Sukagawa City, Fukushima Prefecture, and is now an unstaffed ground-level station with a single side platform serving one track, managed by the Suigun Line General Center (Hitachi-Daigo Station).
