History
Oritateguchi Station was established on 5 November 1922, when the Kurobe Railway opened the 10.1 km section between Mikkaichi Station (today's Ainokaze Toyama Railway Kurobe Station) and Oritate Station. The following year, on 21 November 1923, the 7.1 km section between Oritate Station and Momohara Station (today's Unazuki-Onsen Station) opened, completing the full 17.2 km line from Mikkaichi Station to Momohara Station. With the company consolidation into Toyama Chihō Railway (Chitetsu), centered on Toyama Electric Railway, on 1 January 1943, the station was assigned to that company's Kurobe Line, and through service from Dentetsu-Toyama Station began with the voltage increase from 600 V to 1,500 V on 11 November of the same year. Freight operations ended on 11 May 1968, the waiting shelter was rebuilt on 6 July 1988, and the platform was renovated with a ramp in November 1994.
Notes
The overhead-line poles still carry legible Yawata Steel Works roll-marks, leaving a piece of Taishō-era railway heritage on view at the station.
