History
Orihara Station opened on 6 October 1934 as a stop on what would become the Hachikō Line, the cross-country route linking Hachiōji and Takasaki. It is operated by East Japan Railway Company (JR East) and remains a small unstaffed halt in the town of Yorii, Saitama, with a single side platform serving one track. In fiscal 2010 it averaged only about 40 boarding passengers a day, reflecting its rural setting on the Komagawa–Takasaki section of the line.
