History
Ōnohara Station opened on 27 October 1914 as a station of the Chichibu Railway Chichibu Main Line in Ōnohara, Chichibu, Saitama Prefecture; its station number is CR29. The PASMO IC card became usable there on 12 March 2022, and the station was unstaffed on the same date; before that it was a contracted-operation station managed under Chichibu Station. It is a ground-level station combining a side platform and an island platform in a two-platform, three-track arrangement; the station building stands on the west side, by platform 1, and the platforms are connected by a level crossing within the station grounds. The track that was formerly platform 3 has been removed. A simplified PASMO gate and a PASMO charging machine are installed.
Notes
An off-premises siding once ran from this station to the Chichibu Taiheiyō Cement Chichibu Plant (formerly Chichibu Cement's Chichibu No. 2 Plant) to carry limestone; because electric locomotives pushed the freight cars out along it, shunting operations were carried out at this station.
