History

Ōma Station opened on 1 October 1960 as a Japanese National Railways station. It began as an unstaffed station handling diesel-railcar passengers only, and became a Shikoku Railway Company (JR Shikoku) station at the JNR privatization of 1 April 1987. It is a ground-level station with one side platform and one track, a simple structure consisting only of the platform and a short canopy, with the entrance a ramp at the platform's south end. It is one of the stations within Susaki City on the Dosan Line, located where the Mitarai River flows into Susaki Bay right beside the station.
