History

Oki-Matsushima Station opened on 18 November 1911 as a station of the Tōsan Electric Tramway. It became a station of Shikoku Suiryoku Denki through a company merger on 25 December 1916, and a station of the Sanuki Electric Railway through a business transfer on 30 April 1942. It became a station of the Takamatsu-Kotohira Electric Railroad's Shido Line through a company merger on 1 November 1943, and remains so today. On 5 November 1992, it was relocated about 190 meters toward Kotoden-Shido, to coincide with the opening of Takamatsu City's Saijō Park (crematorium park). On 31 August 2004, it was flooded by a storm surge from Typhoon No. 16, and the Shido Line was suspended until the afternoon of 1 September. Its station number is S03; it is an unstaffed station with one side platform and one track, and has no station building.

Notes

Before the 1992 relocation, the former Takamatsu municipal crematorium stood in front of the old station site, and the relocation was carried out to coincide with the opening of Saijō Park at that location.
