History
Okashinai Station opened on 15 October 1963 as a stop on the Japanese National Railways (JNR) network, serving the town of Ani in Akita Prefecture. With the privatisation of the line on 1 November 1986 it passed to the third-sector Akita Nairiku Jūkan Railway, and now lies 40.9 kilometres along the Nairiku Line from the northern terminus at Takanosu. The unstaffed stop consists of a single side platform serving a bidirectional track.
