History
Okada Station is a station on the Iyo Railway's Gunchū Line that opened on 18 July 1910 in Masaki, Iyo District, Ehime Prefecture. Since the Gunchū Line first opened, Deai Station had stood between this station and Kamata Station, but on 4 July of the same year, just before this station opened, it was converted into a freight stop and later abolished. The name "Deai" ("meeting point") referred to the spot where the Shigenobu River meets its tributary, the Ishite River. The station is a ground-level, staffed station with two opposed platforms serving two tracks. Its timetable calls for trains to pass each other during the daytime, and in the era when it handled freight, a siding was provided at platform 3. Its station number is IY29.
