History

Odabuchi Station opened on 14 January 1934 as a stop on the Aichi Electric Railway in present-day Toyokawa, Aichi Prefecture. The Aichi Electric Railway merged with the Nagoya Railroad on 1 August 1935, after which the station became part of the Meitetsu Nagoya Main Line. Staffing was withdrawn on 16 February 1967 and the station has remained unattended ever since. Automatic ticket gates and a centralised station management system were introduced on 14 December 2005, when the Transpass fare system also came into service; Manaca followed on 11 February 2011, and the station today has automated ticket machines and Manaca turnstiles. The at-grade station has two opposed side platforms, but they are short enough that only four-car trains fit, so six-car services use door-cut operation to keep the rear two doors closed.

Notes

The platforms are only long enough for four cars, so longer services pass through with their two rear doors kept closed under a door-cut arrangement.
