History
Obata Ryokuchi Station is a stop at Ryūsenji 2-chōme, Moriyama-ku, Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture, that was established on 23 March 2001, together with the opening of the Nagoya Guideway Bus's Shidami Line (Yutorito Line). Its station number is Y09, and it lies at the terminus of the guideway route, beyond which the section becomes at-grade running. It is an elevated station with opposed platforms serving two tracks; the dedicated guideway (elevated) connects with the ordinary road (at-grade) at the Mode Interchange on the east side of the station. Although it is adjacent to the company's head office, there is no staffed window inside the station building, and it is operationally an unstaffed station. An elevator and restrooms on the first floor of the station building are provided, and buses that terminate at this station from Ōzone Station turn around just past the Mode Interchange and head back toward Ōzone.
Notes
The Yutorito Line is Japan's only guideway bus route, and under law it is treated as a tramway based on the Tramway Act (its elevated section being similar to a streetcar line); Obata Ryokuchi Station is counted as one of the few tramway stations of this kind.
