Location

History

Nishi-Yonezawa Station opened on 28 September 1926 on what is now the Yonesaka Line, operated by JR East. The station sits 6.5 rail kilometres from the line's terminus at Yonezawa Station, in the city of Yonezawa, Yamagata Prefecture. It was absorbed into the JR East network at the breakup of Japanese National Railways on 1 April 1987. The station has a single side platform serving one bi-directional track and operates without staff.

Notes

The Yonezawa Uesugi clan cemetery, a designated National Historic Site, lies within easy walking distance of the station.
