History
Nishi-Toride Station opened on 1 December 1979 as a station on the Kantō Railway Jōsō Line, in Hongō 1-chōme, Toride, Ibaraki Prefecture. PASMO service began on 14 March 2009; the station went unstaffed during part of the day from 16 February 2010, and unstaffed all day from 16 May 2013. It is an elevated station with two opposing platforms serving two tracks, though the Toride-side end is nearly level with the ground. The station building sits in a depression, and the platforms are built spanning that depression; no elevator is installed. It is located in a residential area within the Kantetsu New Town development, and several shops and supermarkets line the area near the station.
