History

Nishi-Suzurandai Station opened as a new station between Suzurandai-nishiguchi and Aina stations on 5 June 1970, to handle rush-hour traffic on the Kobe Electric Railway Ao Line. A full-scale renovation took place from December 1992 to May 1993, adding two elevators to the footbridge over the tracks, raising the platforms, and building new restrooms, including, for the first time on Kobe Electric Railway, baby chairs and changing tables in the women's restroom, an advanced renovation for its time. In March 2001, Tracks 1 and 2 were abolished, reducing the station from three platforms serving four tracks to its present two opposed platforms serving two tracks. In the timetable revision of 25 March 2017, trains terminating and reversing at this station during daytime hours were reinstated. Its station number is KB42.

Notes

The former Track 1 terminal platform fell out of use after the spring and autumn 1991 timetable revisions extended those services to and from Miki Station; it was later abolished, and the site was redeveloped as a coin-operated parking lot.
