Location

History

Nishi-Mizuho Station is on the JR Hokkaido Furano Line in Asahikawa, Hokkaido — the line that runs from Asahikawa Station to Furano via Biei. The city is near the centre of Hokkaido in the Kamikawa Basin and, with a population of about 310,000, is a designated Core City and the second-most populous city in Hokkaido after Sapporo; the Furano Line serves Asahikawa Station, Kagura-oka, Midorigaoka, Nishi-Goryō, Nishi-Mizuho, Nishi-Kagura, Nishi-Seiwa, and Chiyogaoka inside the city limits.

Notes

Eight Furano-Line stations lie inside Asahikawa's city limits — Asahikawa, Kagura-oka, Midorigaoka, Nishi-Goryō, Nishi-Mizuho, Nishi-Kagura, Nishi-Seiwa, and Chiyogaoka — so a single passenger ticket inside the city can reach a sizeable stretch of the line's countryside leg toward Biei and Furano.
