History

Nishi-Futami Station is a station on the Sanyo Electric Railway Main Line, opened on 21 August 2004 between Higashi-Futami and Harimachō stations. It is located at Nishi-Futami, Futami-chō, Akashi, Hyōgo Prefecture, and carries station number SY 26. It is the newest station on the Sanyo Electric Railway. It is a ground-level station with two opposed platforms serving two tracks; the ticket gates are underground, and the station entrances double as a north–south pedestrian passage across the tracks. It has been unstaffed since opening, though a ticket window is provided. An elevator also gives access from the gate level to the platforms. Projected daily ridership at the time of construction was 3,500, but a survey on 10 November 2009 recorded daily ridership of 5,023.
