History

Nishi-Awakura Station opened on 3 December 1994 with the opening of the Chizu Express Chizu Line. It stands in the village of Nishiawakura, Aida District, Okayama Prefecture, 37.4 rail kilometres from the terminus of the line at Kamigōri, and is operated by the third-sector semi-public railway operator Chizu Express. The station consists of a single side platform on an embankment; there is no station building, only a hut-like waiting area on the platform, and the station is unstaffed.
