History

Nirehara Station opened on 27 November 1930. The 1 April 1987 breakup and privatisation of Japanese National Railways placed it under JR West. It is a station on the Takayama Main Line at Nirehara in the city of Toyama, Toyama Prefecture, 196.2 kilometres from the end of the line and 7.0 kilometres from the point at which the line changes operating company. A single side platform carries one bidirectional track on an embankment, with the station building at a lower level, and the station is unstaffed. In fiscal 2015 an average of 35 passengers boarded here each day.
