Location

History

Niisato Station opened as Takei Station on the Jomo Electric Railway's Jomo Line on 10 November 1928. It was originally located about 300 metres closer to Nishi-Kiryu than its present site. It was relocated to its present site and renamed Niisato Station on 1 May 1948. On 21 September 1992 it began handling express tickets for Tobu Railway's express "Ryomo," and the present station building came into use on 27 March 1998. Among the stations on the Jomo Electric Railway's Jomo Line where trains can pass, this is the only one with two side platforms facing each other. Since fiscal 2020, staffing has been suspended as a measure against COVID-19.

Notes

It is the only passing station on the Jōmō Line with facing platforms, and there is one maintenance track on the north side.
