History
Niino Station opened on 15 October 1951 on the JNR Bantan Line between Tsurui and Teramae, carrying passenger traffic only, in what was then Niino-Nakamura, Teramae-mura, Kanzaki-gun, Hyōgo. The station passed to JR West at the JNR breakup on 1 April 1987. ICOCA support began on 26 March 2016 using a simple IC-only gate. On 1 June 2022 management was transferred from Fukusaki Station to Toyooka Station, and on 1 October 2022 the station came under JR West's Kinki Regional Headquarters, Fukuchiyama Management Department.
Notes
Niino's running tracks are configured for one-line through running: limited-express trains use platform 2 in both directions, while stopping local trains normally use platform 1; when two trains cross, the Teramae-bound service is routed to platform 2.
