History

Nanyō-Shiyakusho Station opened on 25 October 1988 with the inauguration of the Yamagata Railway Flower Nagai Line. The station serves Nanyō City Hall, whose grounds lie immediately adjacent, and sits just 0.9 kilometres from the line's Akayu starting point. It is unstaffed and consists of a single side platform serving one track, with a waiting room on the platform.
