History
Nambu-Shijō Station opened on 5 July 1989 in Kanazawa Ward, Yokohama, on the day the Kanazawa Seaside Line began running between Shin-Sugita and Kanazawa-hakkei. It is the second station from the Shin-Sugita end and carries station number 2. The elevated station has a single island platform serving two tracks, with the station building beneath the platform. It is unstaffed, and is equipped with automatic ticket gates and ticket-vending machines, the vending machines having been renewed and brought into use on 23 March 2005. The station stands beside the Yokohama Nambu Market, with which it shares its name.
Notes
The station name comes from the adjacent Yokohama Nambu Wholesale Market.
