Location

History

Nakatsuno Station was established on 30 December 1928 with the opening of the Mikuni Awara Electric Railway's line from Fukuiguchi Station to Awara Station (present-day Awara-Yunomachi Station). The Keifuku Electric Railroad absorbed the Mikuni Awara Electric Railway on 1 September 1942, and the station became part of its Mikuni Awara Line. A freight siding was abolished in 1964, and the station was unstaffed on 1 August 1973, with the train-crossing (passing) facilities also removed at that time. In December 1990 the station was relocated to the west to coincide with the completion of a new Kuzuryū River bridge. Service on the entire line was suspended following the June 2001 Echizen Main Line accident, but the station facilities were transferred to the Echizen Railway on 1 February 2003, and service resumed on 20 July that year.

Notes

The platform sits atop an embankment about 10 meters above ground level and can be reached only by stairs, so the station is not barrier-free.
