Location

History

Nakatsu Station opened on 24 September 1964, the day the Midōsuji Line's extension between Umeda and Shin-Osaka began service, and is now operated by Osaka Metro as station M15. A ward merger moved its official address from Ōyodo-ku to Kita-ku on 13 February 1989, and operation passed from the Osaka Municipal Transportation Bureau to the privatized Osaka Metro on 1 April 2018. The underground station has a single island platform with two tracks, built for 10-car trains, and a Y-shaped turnback track on the Minoh-Kayano side that a share of services arriving from the Tennoji direction use to reverse. Platform screen doors began operating on 20 March 2021. A same-named Hankyu station stands about 300 meters away but shares no free transfer with it.

Notes

Although Nakatsu offers no transfer to any other Osaka Metro line, it has the highest ridership of any such non-transfer station in the network.
