Location

History

Nakano-shimbashi Station is a Tokyo Metro Marunouchi Line subway stop in Nakano, Tokyo, numbered Mb-05. It sits on the line's 3.2 km Hōnanchō branch, 1.3 km from the junction at Nakano-sakaue. The station opened on 8 February 1961 as part of the original branch and has two side platforms serving two tracks on basement level 2. Daytime services are operated by three-car shuttles between Nakano-sakaue and Hōnanchō, but during morning and evening peaks the station is also served by six-car through trains running between Nakano-fujimicho and the Marunouchi main line at Ikebukuro. The station passed to Tokyo Metro at the privatisation of the Teito Rapid Transit Authority in 2004.

Notes

Nakano-shimbashi appears in the 1967 James Bond film You Only Live Twice as the location of Tiger Tanaka's private subway hub.
