History

Naka-Kazumi Station opened as Horie Station on 25 June 1913, simultaneously with the opening of the Tateyama Light Railway's Namerikawa–Gohyakkoku section. The Tateyama Light Railway changed its name to Tateyama Railway in 1917, and on 20 February 1921 the station was renamed to its present name, Naka-Kazumi. In 1931 Toyama Electric Railway absorbed the Tateyama Railway, and the station became part of Toyama Chihō Railway's Main Line following the general consolidation of Toyama Prefecture's transport on 1 January 1943. Freight service was discontinued in 1969, the station became unstaffed on 1 August 1997, and ATS was installed in 1998. A derailment occurred on the station grounds on 30 September 2008. It is a ground-level station with two facing platforms serving two tracks, connected by a level crossing within the station grounds.
