History
Naka-Okazaki Station opened on 26 April 1976 as a passenger station with a single side platform serving one track, when Japanese National Railways began passenger service on the Okata Line between Okazaki and Shin-Toyota. JR Central took over at the privatization of Japanese National Railways on 1 April 1987, and the line was transferred to the Aichi Loop Railway Line on 31 January 1988 the following year. The section between Naka-Okazaki and Kita-Okazaki was double-tracked on 23 December 2001, the station became staffed all day from 5 January 2009, and automatic ticket gates were installed on 23 March of the same year. The IC card "TOICA" became usable on 2 March 2019. The station number is 03.
Notes
Naka-Okazaki shares its east-side rotary with Meitetsu's Okazaki-Kōen-mae Station, but the two stations have no internal connection: passengers must descend to street level and walk between them.
