History

Naka-Funyū Station opened on 19 November 1956 as an unstaffed, passenger-only station of Japanese National Railways. It became a JR East station with the 1987 division and privatization of the national railway on 1 April, and is now an unstaffed station managed by the Suigun Line Control Center (Hitachi-Daigo Station). It is located at Dōshita, Funyū, Hitachiōmiya, Ibaraki Prefecture, and is a ground-level station with a single platform serving one track, with only a doorless waiting shelter on the platform.
