Location

History

Naka Station opened on 1 November 1920, when the Takayama Line (renamed the Takayama Main Line in 1934) opened between Gifu Station and Kagamigahara Station, and handled both passengers and freight from the start. Freight handling ended on 1 October 1968, parcel handling ended on 1 February 1984, and the station became unstaffed on 1 April 1985 (for some time afterward, tickets continued to be sold by staff dispatched from Unuma Station). It passed to JR Central at the privatization of Japanese National Railways on 1 April 1987, and was rebuilt as a simplified concrete station building in February 1998. The IC card "TOICA" became usable there from 13 March 2010.

Notes

Naka Station is the nearest JR station to Kakamigahara City Hall, and it is located about a one-minute walk from Shin-Naka Station on the parallel Meitetsu Kakamigahara Line.
