History
Nagose Station opened on 24 December 1925 as the temporary terminus of the Mizuma Railway running inland from Kaizuka. On 30 January 1926 the line was extended to what is today Mizuma-Kannon, demoting Nagose to an intermediate stop. It is the only intermediate station on the Mizuma Line with a passing loop, so trains cross here throughout the day. Staffing was withdrawn on 18 December 1985 and the station building was demolished on 4 June 1993; access today is via a foot crossing at the southeast end of the platform and up a short ramp. The line introduced PiTaPa and one-man working on 1 June 2009, but Nagose itself never received platform-side card readers — fares are settled on board.
Notes
Nagose is the only intermediate station on the Mizuma Line with a passing loop; train crossings on the line take place there throughout the day.
