History
Nagasato Station opened on 10 March 1990 to coincide with a timetable revision. It is a Kyushu Railway Company (JR Kyushu) Nagasaki Main Line station located in Uchikoshi, Konagai-chō, Isahaya City, Nagasaki Prefecture. On 23 September 2022, to coincide with the opening of the Nishi-Kyushu Shinkansen, the section from Hizen-Hama Station to Nagasaki Station, including this station, was de-electrified. It is a ground-level station with one island platform serving two tracks, using a single-track-through arrangement with the up line as the through track. The platform sits atop an embankment and is reached by passing under a girder bridge from a waiting room set somewhat apart from the tracks; the station has been unstaffed since it opened.
Notes
Rather than giving direct access to the embanked platform, the station has a somewhat unusual layout in which passengers reach the platform by passing under a girder bridge from a waiting room set a little apart from the tracks.
