History
Nagaokatenjin Station opened on 1 November 1928, together with the Shin-Keihan Railway's extension between Takatsukichō (present-day Takatsuki-shi) and Kyoto-Saiin (present-day Saiin) stations. It became a station of the Keihan Electric Railway's Shin-Keihan Line through a company merger in 1930, and of Keihanshin Express Railway (present-day Hankyu Railway) in 1943; it was placed on the Kyoto Main Line when the Shin-Keihan Line was renamed the Kyoto Main Line in December 1949. In August 1972 the platform's effective length was extended to 160 meters and the station became Hankyu's first station with a building spanning the tracks, and automatic ticket gates were introduced on 15 September 1973. It became a limited-express stop on 24 March 2001 and a commuter limited-express stop on 17 March 2007.
Notes
Nagaokatenjin was Hankyū Corporation's first station to receive an overhead 'bridge-station' building, completed in August 1972 when the platforms were lengthened to 160 m.
