History

Moriguchi Station opened on 6 April 1977 as the temporary northern terminus of the Osaka Municipal Subway Tanimachi Line, serving the city of Moriguchi in Osaka Prefecture. It became an intermediate station on 8 February 1983 when the line was extended one stop further north to Dainichi. Operated by Osaka Metro since the privatisation of the municipal transport bureau on 1 April 2018, the station carries the line code T12 and consists of a single underground island platform fenced with platform-edge gates, the latter put into service on 28 October 2025.

Notes

Destination blinds reading "Moriguchi" are still provided on Tanimachi Line trains, but no scheduled passenger service has terminated at the station since it ceased to be the line's terminus in 1983, apart from times of disrupted operation.
