Location

History

Mizushima Station is the principal station of the Mizushima district of Kurashiki, Okayama Prefecture, and is served by the Mizushima Main Line, operated by the Mizushima Rinkai Railway. The station opened in July 1943 as Okayama Kōjō Station, on the private industrial railway serving the Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Mizushima Aircraft Plant. Passenger service began on 20 August 1948, when the station took its present name. In April 1952 the facilities passed to the Kurashiki Municipal Transportation Bureau, and on 1 April 1970 to the Mizushima Rinkai Railway. The station was elevated in September 1992.
