History
Mizui Station was established at what is now Mizui, Mikuni-chō, Sakai, Fukui Prefecture, on 31 January 1929, with the opening of the Mikuni Awara Electric Railway's Awara (now Awara-Yunomachi Station)–Mikuni-machi (now Mikuni Station) section. On 1 August 1942, the Mikuni Awara Electric Railway merged with Keifuku Electric Railroad, and the station became part of that company's Mikuni Awara Line. Following rationalization measures from the 1970s onward, it was transferred to Echizen Railway on 10 August 2003, and is now a station on that company's Mikuni Awara Line.
