History

Miyanosawa Station opened on 25 February 1999 as the new western terminus of the Sapporo Municipal Subway's Tōzai Line, when the line was extended west from Kotoni. It is numbered T01. The site had been planned for years under provisional names — first "Kinrōsha-Danchi-mae", after the nearby workers' housing estate, then "Teine-Higashi" — before the present name was finally chosen. A retirement ceremony for the line's 6000-series rolling stock was held at the station on 30 August 2008, and platform-edge doors entered service on 3 March 2009.

Notes

The walkway from Exit 5 to the bus terminal contains the only moving sidewalk in any Sapporo Municipal Subway station.
