History
Miyanohira Station opened on 1 April 1914 as a freight-only station on the Ōme Railway, handling limestone for the company's own operations in what is now Ōme, Tokyo. General freight followed in 1919 and passenger service in 1923. The line was nationalised on 1 April 1944. Freight handling ended on 1 July 1969, the station was made unstaffed in 1971, and it passed to East Japan Railway Company with the breakup of Japanese National Railways in 1987. The current station building opened on 24 November 2009.
Notes
Limestone from the quarry visible from the station was shipped over the Ōme Line from the opening of its Ōme–Hinatawada section in 1895 until 1969.
